There are many types of terriers, but most of the dogs in this group are small, alert and extremely plucky by nature. They like to explore underground and are quite likely to dig, they have an alarming tendency to dissappear down rabbit holes when out for a walk!
Althouth they were originally kept on farms often as rat catchers, they do make loyal companions. They do not always get on well together though and enjoy the opportunity to run arroungd on their own.
