| Dog Breed Information - Border Terriers One of the smallest terriers, the Border Terrier stands only 25cms high. Its name is thought to come from the 18th century Border Hunt. It could keep up with horses and was capable of confronting a fox or even the much tougher badger, its narrow body allowing it to go to earth without difficulty. Its coat is durable enough to withstand the weather on the Borders between England and Scotland. A Border Terrier Club was established in 1921 and has members throughout the world
